Covid-19 update

Following guidance from the Institute of Osteopathy and the General Osteopathic Council I have introduced certain measures to ensure your osteopathy treatment is provided in a safe, clean and hygienic environment:

  • Appointments are spaced to allow extra time for cleaning and to avoid patients coming into contact with each other and I therefore ask that you do not arrive early for your appointment.

  • I also ask that you attend alone unless you have a double appointment with another member of your household, when you will both be asked to stay in the treatment room for the duration of the appointments.

  • All surfaces and equipment are deep-cleaned and disinfected, as well as hand washing, before and after each patient attends their appointment. We have removed all linens and soft furnishings from the clinic to make it easier to clean.

  • We have refurbished the treatment room to provide hand washing facilities and additional storage and reconfigured the porch to provide more covid safe entry into the treatment room

  • Alcohol hand sanitiser is provided which you will be asked to use on entry.

  • As of Monday 19th July the Government guidelines have changed on face coverings and social distancing. However, as announced by NHS England face coverings and social distancing will remain the same in healthcare settings including osteopaths. I will continue to wear full PPE, facemask, gloves and apron, and ask that you bring your own mask or face covering. I also have a face visor which I will use where patients are unable to tolerate a facemask or face covering.

  • I am sorry the toilet will not be available for patients.

I will contact you before your appointment to discuss any medical or covid risks. For those where a face to face appointment is not appropriate, I will be able to offer a video consultation.

Please do not attend your appointment if you or someone you come into contact with has a diagnosis of Covid-19 or is displaying symptoms of cold or flu such as fever, cough, sore throat, loss or change to sense of smell within the last 10 days.

Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support.
